Why Choose OmShare for File Transfer?

Engineered for privacy, speed, and unlimited data transfers using modern WebRTC peer-to-peer technology.

No File Size Limits

Transfer 4K videos, large raw datasets, virtual machines, and archives. If your browser can read it, OmShare can send it.

Direct P2P Speed

Files stream directly between devices via WebRTC DataChannels, eliminating the bottleneck of uploading to a cloud server first.

End-to-End Encrypted

All transfers are secured with DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security) cryptographic protocols. Only the receiver can access your file.

Zero Server Storage

Your file content never touches any database or cloud server. Transfers are 100% ephemeral and anonymous.

No Account Required

No registrations, no email confirmations, no passwords, and no ads. Open the website, pick a file, and start sharing.

Cross-Platform Ready

Works smoothly across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and all modern browsers supporting WebRTC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about peer-to-peer file sharing with OmShare.

How does OmShare transfer files without any file size limits?

OmShare streams files in 64KB binary chunks directly between browser instances over WebRTC DataChannels. Because files are never stored on an intermediary server, there is no storage quota or file size cap.

Are my files stored on OmShare servers?

No. Files transfer strictly device-to-device. OmShare's signaling layer only exchanges the initial connection routing information, never the actual file data.

Is the file transfer secure and encrypted?

Yes. All WebRTC peer connections are encrypted by default using DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security). Your data cannot be intercepted or viewed in transit.

How long does a 6-digit code stay active?

Each transfer code expires automatically after 24 hours. Once the transfer completes or expires, all temporary signaling records are permanently deleted.

Which browsers are supported?

OmShare works on all modern WebRTC-enabled browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera on desktop and mobile.
